  • Rod Handle / Reel Seat changes???

    Hi there

Does anyone know here i can get Full Cork handles changed over to Screw Reel Seat Fixings........ any rod builders out there etc.

All the rods are the old type of Drennan..... im8 / im9 and feeder rods, the plastic slide reel fittings are well past their best / now work loose etc....... but these are all fantastic rods and I would like to change over to a screw reel seat fixing.

Any help, where to get it done / any idea of cost........ would be great, thanks.

Cotswold rods have a good reputation or you could use one of the individual rod builders such as nick buss.

      Hi Si

I had my 11ft 6 Drennan im8 feeder rod cock handle and reel seat changed a few years back £30, so yes it can be done. As for rod builders in your neck of the woods i cannot help.

Do you know Stewart Lister ? He will know. If you don't know him i will contact him for you.

      Regards Steve

Yes Carpysteve im good friends with Stewart I will give him a shout, however im pretty sure there is no one down this way.... i think Exeter Angling Centre used to do it back in the Carbotec days but not now?

I dont mind sending all the "butts" off, so i will look into Cotswold Rods.

Thanks for your help guys, i will let you know how i get on.

inner tube is the most comfortable reel fitting you could wish for
All my Float rods have it on
Far better Than horrible Cold Bulky winch fittings IMO
