Looked online and the carbon sheet I found is a vinyl, is this the one you used.

I have seen the same and asked the question and the seller has said that it should be ok to reinforce pole sections to convert

Be very careful because vinyl carbon is not carbon it's self adhesive carbon look a like and is for decorative purposes not reinforcing expensive pole sections

Vinyl Carbon Sheet will stretch in direct Sunlight .
I did 2 Bagging sections a number of years ago .,
I used 1.5" Paper Masking Tape
Over lapped for approx. 3" either side of where I would Drill ,I put 3 Wraps over it & coloured it black
Then added 2 very thin layers of Araldite over it Smoothed it off & applied Clear Varbnish
It's lasted years . & it will never let me Down
If you want too fit side pullers on a strict budget get some broken pieces of pole make sure it slides far enough down you section
glue it then Drill 5 mmins cost £ 000009

Thanks Colin, that was my thought on a vinyl wrap. exactly how Lambretta put it. It's only £25 per top kit at the tackle shop. Not expensive when you figure in the cost of kits.

I paid 99p for the sheet in my opinion its works well
once you varnish it it becomes strong I personally think its strong enough but its up 2 you.

Electrical Tape would do the same job as vinyl sheets as it's not strengthening the section.
