  • Best Paste Float

    Hi Folks.
what is the best type of paste float, i am thinking of making a few.
    what body shape.
    carbon or glass stem.
    long or short tip.
what gram, 0.2 0.3 and so on.
    cocking or self cocking.
for 3 to 5ft of water
have made some in the past and have worked quite well.
just thought i would have a change.
    thanks.
    all the best steve.

0.2g long tip very strong (stem goes through to top of tip) cocking. That would be my paste float

For me they have to be cocking. That means you can get some shot on the line, better bite indication IMO

If you pm me your addy I will send you a couple of lengths of micro bore carbon tube to make some straight through floats. Virtually indestructible !

Weight wise, mine are usually .6 minimum. I found too light gave too many false bites. At least when a bigger float goes under you know why !

I have modified all my shop bought pole floats with a tube through the body, like carpa 3's, was sick of floats breaking.

A rugby ball type body, with a glass stem, long tip (60mm), between 0.4 and 0.6g cocking.
