  • What are you hoping to achieve this year?

As the subject says, is there anything you are hoping to achieve this year, such as a certain weight or species?

I'm determined to get some river fishing in this year so new species on my list for this year are Dace, Greyling and Barbel. 'Specimen' weight chub would be good too.

A small local water has some big koi in too. Fished it a few times last year but only had one to 8lb 4oz so one of the doubles would be nice. The water has some decent bream in there too. Surprising considering it's a tiny water.

im looking to break my pb too. broke it 3 weeks ago with a lake record from pool hall in wolverhampton at 31lb, so will be hoping the fish in there pile on a few pounds b4 spawning. might even try a spot of piking at some point as have always fancied it!. my 1st job tho is a total overhaul of most of my night fishing tackle, bivvy, alarms etc.

I had a 30lb cat last year , so hoping to crack the 20lb barrier with carp and a double figure tench would be nice . Im new to speci fishing done about 5 sessions and kinda finding my feet after ten years of match fishing
Give it a rub and it might do something !!!!!

My goal for this year is a 3lb 3oz (1500g) Rudd and a 6lb 6oz (3000g) Chub. The Rudd will be a hard one but not impossible. I've cought 2 at 1260g (2lb 7oz) last year. And I will try to catch a pike over 12kg (26lb 4oz) aswell.

                mmmmm lets see......
                1. double figure barbel
                2. PB pike (already done just under 10lb) but now want a bigger one
                3. also catch big tench and bream by design(instead of jus going for whatever swims)
i enjoy all aspects of fishing wether it be fishing matches, specimen fishing or just pleasuring for anything that swims.

Id like to Set my PB and Catch a +10LB CARP.
I know it sounds an easy target but my local lakes only stock 25/30lb carp max caught size
(by local i mean cycle/walk to).

id like to learn how to use a marker setup and learn how to map out my local lake bed. I feel i will of become less of an amature at this point, personally speaking i know true seasoned anglers will dissagree lol.

You'll go a fair old way to find waters that stock many 30lb+ in them mate. They do exist but will be kept very quiet or be very hard waters where you need to put the time in to catch and lots of it

Not disputing that mate. You'll get yourself a 10lb+ carp no problems when the weather warms up a bit mate. Give it a few months and your target will have changed to a bigger one
