I've drawn peg 6 (old peg 9) and I'm not sure what I can expect today. It's a peg with a lovely looking corner but can be very unpredictable, I've seen good returns and poor results off this peg - it wasn't drawn yesterday so not sure if that's a good thing or not.

From the whistle I've gone straight down the long margin to my right with meat, imagine my surprise when the float sales away and a 7lb carp is pulling back, no more carp were to follow so a quick look on the bomb produced a few small Carp. Looking around the lake and it appears to be slow for everyone in this back arm so this Spurs me on to try harder. A few hours in and I'm struggling with seven Carp so I'm now feeding heavy on all lines to make something happen and I'm also starting new lines, there's fish in the pegs but I'm foul hooking more and more and so the dreaded Bolingey curse is haunting me again.

The last hour I have a few Carp from down the edge over dead maggot and that's my lot - 58lbs.

Later I'm in the club house to check the results and points wise I've done better than I thought with another 6 points, so I'm avoiding the blow outs but a long way of the leading weights and beer tokens.

Nathan was opposite me today and although the peg didn't fish as well as it did for Phil Canning yesterday Nath did enough to win our section with 96lbs - he'll be happy with that as that's his second section win and joint leader with several others on 18 points.

Polawyn (match lake) tomorrow one of my favourite pegs on the whole complex is 48, not many anglers choice but it's been good to me in the Resident matches so I'll not be dissapointed if I draw it.

Must improve on Six points today if I'm to sustain a reasonable high finish - currently lying 68th.
