BBCs The One Show is to attend Two Tone's funeral. Is this madness or respectful?

P.s. don't let the polish know where its happening!

I think the one show will probably ridicule the whole thing,to be honest. But,definately don't let the poles know! One hell of a spitroast that would be!

I've been on another planet for days ( some say years) and saw oneabungs post and the madness bit, and thought wots poles got to do with ska and rocksteady, and the decent toons from the 70's.
So I googled it and low and behold it's one of lifes dreams that has passed on. RIP Two Tone.
I've only watched 5 mins of the new mob on the one show, and yes they probably will say something stupid if they ain't anglers.

A couple of my mates caught this beast of a carp and what a carp it was, the BRITISH record so show some respect
fellas there aren't many big uns left as the likes of HEATHER, BASIL, AND BENSON are all gone now and not to mention
the old BRITISH record MARY a shame as alot of these fish were older than alot of people on the forum. Every angler
chases a dream match, pleasure , carp and when your dream gets taken so does a bit a of the person chaseing it....
RIP TWO TONE.

that fish had a family,,, that fish had freinds,,,,he leaves a widdow and 2 fatherless children,,
struggling to pay the mortgage on a 3 bed semi with a garage due to an insuFISHent life insurance policy,
who's going to cut the grass?,, who's going to paint the fence? clean out the garage? which incidently may have to be underpinned due to subsidance after being built on moving clay!
and if that wasn't bad enough, theres a damp patch appearing in the bathroom,,, and the chain on the bath plug has just snapped!!!!!

so you lot have a bit of chuffin respect!!!!!!

Call me a cynic, but I reckon there is some Government body promoting this kind of thing to take attention away from the real things going on in the country.
Same as vodaphone employees starting sick jokes via text.
Behind every cloud is a silver lining.
Whoever is behind /organising the "funeral" has got to be making some money out of it.
It should be boycotted.

to far for me to go so will be having a quiet drink and reflecting on the fact that there is no other fish of that size in the uk legally and with that I may never have the chance of breaking the british record :-(

Im sure if you can get in with mr Hales you will soon be able to join the list of Anglers that will be targeting one of the 3 or 4 Fish that he is growing on @ the moment:)
He reckons they will be ready in a couple of years:)
Not too far to travel
Gauranteed to break record within 2 years:):)

Col I can already fish the monument but not happy with the feeding situation. I mean he has a pellet feeder that sprays more than 5kg of pellets every day, not good for fishing but great fro bulking fish up for a record. Who knows though maybe that will be the next British record.

I saw this on the one show tonight, and I think they did it OK. There was a subtle undercurrent of 'WTF' , but to be fair, they are a TV show, not anglers. That bloke jamie cullem was on the show, and he seemed to find it hillarious, but he's only 3ft 2" and likes jazz, so it's probably understandable.

To me it looked more of a social gathering of the elite special forces bivvy boys than anything else, fair play to them for turning up, and fair play to the beeb for giving it some airtime.

I just watched it on iplayer...Bang out of order when she said.."i dont understand it, they spend all their time trying to KILL it and now hes dead they're all crying about it"....so fair play for giving it airtime yes....but no need for THAT remark on national tv when theres nobody to respond to it!!

I think it was an off the cuff remark by the woman, they wouldn't have scripted that. She's just getting mixed up with sea fishing.

And you can complain you know...write to points of view ;)

She probably said that because like everyone else outside of fishing thinks it's stupid that we put them back!

I actually think all the coverage of it has probably done more damage to Angling than good, it's already thought as the biggest joke in sport. I was reading some of the comments on Skynews 99.99% of them thought it was cruel and that we was all to blame for putting it through a life time of pain, thats the sort of ignorance we have to put up with and the anti's will have a field day with it!
