Default Bank End Fisheries Blaxton nr Doncaster

    Hi,

Has anyone fished either the large (Eastern) lake or the smaller (Western) Lake this week?

If so how is it fishing, what methods are working. Not interested in fishing for Carp exclusively though, I've no carp taclke!!!

    Thanks

in all honesty i find bank end not a very good fishery, each time i have been there has been the odd tench aswel as the odd bream. if your around the blaxton area i would definatly give candy corner a shot, lots of large carp and tench, aswel as some nice silverfish and Golden tench. its by far my favorite pond. hoskers lake there is a very nice lake with some great silverfish and carp. not sure how it fishes at the moment though i tend to stick to chub on river for winter. but i would definatly recommend it

i imagine its a fishery that requires background knowledge before hand, any tips on fishing it? i could give it another go.

depends on what your after the bigger carp are in west lake some 20lbs plus thats where all the bivvy boys fish the match lake holds a lot of carp and f1s and there are some lumps in here also the smallest as a lot of skimmers and carp as well on a decent day you should be able to catch 50lbs plus depending on your ability on west lake there are a load of skimmers which you can catch on the pole or groundbait feeder .it can,t be a bad fishery because you can struggle to get a peg .not every peg is a flyer but if you ask anglers there they will put you on a few fish " bank end publicity officer nige cooke" lol
