    Default Any Tilers Help Needed

Bit of a problem regarding Tiling onto a Bonding coat been told you cannot although the plasterer says its ok, my Daughters bathroom had all old plaster knocked off to bare walls and a plasterer came and put a bonding coat on.

Cut a long story short the plastering is a right mess its uneven and no beads used around the windows, been told to use one coat plaster over the top to even it out
and it should be ok to tile onto.

Is this true or what do you suggest, (don't say get the plasterer back as he wont answer his phone and my Daughter don't want the hassle)

I'm not a tiler mate, but might be an idea to bite the bullet, Plaster Board it all & start over - as this DIY LINK suggests.

The Plaster in our Bathroom was rotten years ago, & that's how the council contractors also did ours during the renovation program.

Don't skim the boards 1st either - apply the adhesive straight on to the boards (for the reason outlined in the Link)

The Boards (from memory) might have been screwed down to a wood baton frame in our case??

We were out at work - contractors had a key.

Hi matey without knocking off bonding coat and reboarding walls , give it 2 coats of multifinish and let it dry out properly before tiling, if !st coat snatches p.v.a. the bonding coat. just try it on a small area first see how it goes.

See LINK below - apparently "Multifinish" does have tile size limitations - According to the Link mind!! AND AGAIN - I'm not a Tiler or Plasterer - Just trying to help.
