    Default Soaking expander in oil.

Hi guys I've saw a clip on the net someone soaked expanders in oil in a airtight tub. Anyone done it?

That's wot I do, I pump pellets as normal, don't over pump them. I then put them in a small tub just covering them in Sensas fish meal oil. They then take on the oil, they seem to hold there shape better and longer than in water, plus you get the attractant of the oil, whatever flavor you use. I do this on the bank but I'm sure you could do it before and seal them !

Wouldn't the oil make the expanders float?

No! Not the amount of oil they take on! You could always use that new Sonu pellet oil!! That definatly sinks!!

Toss a few pellets soaked in oil in the margins, just keep an eye out for the oil resurfacing in little rings, gives a clear identification that the fish have arrived in the margins.

Nick Speed advocates this. Do the night before, pump lightly, drain and then place in a old tablet bottle, cover with your choice of flavour, put the airtight lid on and use the next day. They last for several sessions if you put them in the fridge.

Yes pumping is not needed, just a soak with a slight squeeze is good enough.
