You seem to be getting the numbers but it would seem a lot are shy and don't post, if you could somehow persuade the users you have to post more, then this would be an extremly busy site indeed.

As a relatively new guy here, I would like to see a few more articles on fishing in general, articles on rigs baits there uses etc. people preferences on floats rigs etc

You could also try a banner swap out, with tackle shops a banner for the tackle shop placed on here = a banner for TA on the tackle shop site or even a sticker or two in the shop.

It really depends if you want the forum / site to adopt a commercial approach or keep the freindly family atmosphere.

To summarise

The user base is very good you got to get them posting

not sure advertisements are the answer.....its driven me away from TF since the format change there , its not as easy going.......but of course this is my opinion

I think that there are three ways people learn about websites.

1 - Word of mouth (how I found my way here)

2 - Search engines

3 - Articles in mags etc.

The thing that really keeps people coming back to a site is banter, and good information imho. I'll let you know if I find that!!

This is one of the best angling sites I've been on, the banters good and some laff's to be had, perhaps what Justin wrote..I would like to see a few more articles on fishing in general, articles on rigs baits there uses etc. people preferences on floats rigs etc.. may attract more members.

Competitions etc will bring people in, but it wont make them participate. As mentioned before i thnk some well written articles wouldnt go amiss, and threads that really provoke user content. i think most of the posts at the moment are along the "how do you do xyz" line and the problem with those posts, venue specific ones etc is once theyve been answered theres not much point posting.

Long running features would keep people visiting regularly if you can make it practical to keep them updated or with new content.

great site though, of the various ones i use its the one i check first and spend longest on

Hows about free Pamela Anderson DVD

Would echo the first post there always seems to be a lot of visitors on the site maybe some articles and monthly features would get them registering.

could,nt agree more.

this site is the best ive been on. but TF & TFC seem to get a regular mention in the angling press which is difficult to compete with, and the TFC site pay to be on there, and there,s not as much activity as on TA. although they do have some well run matches that are well attended.

Why not try a banner at the top inviting guests to join with say ten trial posts for example dont know if that can be set up easily or administered properly though.
