| The liners were still persistent but Rob was now beginning to foul hook a few fish which was frustrating to say the least. Another hour went by and now Rob had put two carp in the net along with a few more Roach and a Small Tench. ' Bomber ' on peg 27 was fairing much better. He had taken a couple of bigger Carp and a small Tench.
Still, a lot of other match anglers were struggling to sort things on the pool but I could sense that things were soon to change. Fish were in the swim and the PB15 was not sitting still, all it needs is something to make the fish get their heads down properly on the feed.
" Lets feed a neat pot of worm " Said Rob " Just to see what happens " and so out went a pot of worm and a few casters were introduced over the top with the aid of a catty. Ten minutes later and a smile was on his face a good specimen had been hooked fair and square and was setting off at a pace across the pool, sending bow wave after bow wave in all directions as other fish spooked. " That's more like it, " Said Rob " Lets hope we have sorted things. "
A few moments later and the fish was safely in the net and the rig was back out over the feed. This time a kinder egg type pot was added to the end section and filled with caster, the idea being to reintroduce a small amount of feed after every fish. Before long the float buried and Rob was into another fish and the scene was set. " Bomber get some neat worm out there," Instructed Rob, " and see what happens." Bomber obliged and he too was soon experiencing some serious sport.
The beauty of worm, as we have said in other articles, is it will catch any specie that swims and before long both anglers were catching Roach, Rudd, big Carp, Tench, Barbel and Crucians without to much effort. " You must keep feeding and little and often is undoubtedly the method they prefer to day. That pot of worm kick started the swim, the fish were already there but not so willing to have a go. It just goes to show that you can't always sit back and let things happen, sometimes you have to make them happen."
Both anglers continued to catch well over the next 21/2 hours until it was time to see what had been caught.
Rob was first to show his net and as can be seen a good two nets of fish, one being the 'silver' net and the other his carp. Bomber had also been allowed to store his fish by Mike and they were next to be displayed. You must admit not bad for a couple of un-fancied pegs!

Approximately 70lb for Rob and about 50lb for Bomber
Don't mix your feed altogether, add separate mixes as you go, until you find what the flavour of the day is.
